StoryEdit

Zack believes a ghost captain called Captain Entineel is calling for his help, who misread a compass causing his death and a shipwreck, and Zack enlists the aid of Cody and Woody to try and figure out what it is. Zack then meets Captain Entineel's ghost, and Captain Entineel uses charades to tell Zack his need of help. The word Zack receives from the ghost is compass, meaning it could be related to Entineel's demise. Zack goes over to the shipwreck of the captain's boat Jesse Belle, named after his true love. In the end, Zack changes history and tells everyone the truth: Captain Entineel didn't misread the compass, instead the compass was tampered with by his first mate. The only survivor of the shipwreck, the first mate, proposed to Jesse Belle, but she refused, still in love with Entineel. In the end, the Captain and Jesse are reunited as ghosts and disappear into the night.

TriviaEdit

  • The title of this episode, "The Ghost and Mr. Martin", is an allusion to the 1966 film, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.
  • The suits Zack, Cody, and Woody wore in one scene is a reference to the Ghostbusters. They even have weapons similar to the proton pack, a popular weapon used by the Ghostbusters in the 1984 film.
  • One night, before going to sleep, Zack recorded Woody, Cody, and himself sleeping to prove to Woody and Cody that there was really a ghost in his cabin when he suspected his underwear have moved. This scene is a parody of the film Paranormal Activity; the ghost pulling Zack's blanket is similar one of its scenes.
  • In the rest of the episode, the name of the ship is the "JESSE BELLE", yet the Captain's hat spells "JESSIE BELLE".
  • The name of the captain is a homage to Captain & Tennille, a 1970s singing duo.
