"The Arwin That Came to Dinner" is the 8th episode of the third season of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. After Arwin's mother moves out, he becomes depressed. Zack and Cody have him stay at their place for a few nights, but after he drives Carey crazy, they help him convert his mom's old place into a new bachelor pad. Meanwhile, Lance breaks up with London and London tries everything to win him back.

Story[]

Arwin becomes quite depressed after he learns that his loving mother moved out after getting re-married, so Zack and Cody convince Carey to let Arwin sleepover for the night. Arwin arrives to fix the sink that he previously broke, and ends up sleeping at Suite 2330. Carey reads Arwin a bedtime story, indicating that he is a real baby. The next morning, Arwin is still annoying. They want him gone because he stays at the house for a few more days. When Arwin won't leave them, Zack and Cody decide to convince Arwin to turn his mother's apartment into a bachelor pad.

Meanwhile, Lance breaks up with London, and this makes her very angry. She pays Nia to get information about why their relationship ended. Nia finds out that the reason why he dumped her is because he met someone else that had similar interests. Eventually, London dresses up as a mermaid to impress Lance but the new girlfriend sees Lance helping London up. London and Wanda end up in a fight.

Later, Zack, Cody, and Arwin transform his mother's apartment into a cool bachelor pad. Once it is made, the girl next door turns up. After closing the door on her, he opens it up and Arwin and Enid bond. Arwin asks the boys to leave so they can get some alone time.

- London: Well, if that's the basement, then why is there a fire-breathing dragon in it?
- Mr. Moseby: That's the furnace!

Arwin: (crying while fixing the elevator)
- Zack: Hey Arwin, down?
- Arwin: Yeah, a little.
- Zack: Actually, I was talking about the elevator, 'cause we're going up.
- Cody: What's the matter, Arwin?
- Arwin: Nothing, it's just that, Mother- (elevator closes and cuts him off before opening up)
- Arwin: And now, she's getting- (elevator closes again and reopens)
- Arwin: And I... I have to- (elevator closes again and reopens)
- Arwin: MONKEY SOCK DOLL!
- Cody: So, your mom's getting married and moving out, and now you're gonna be all alone and have no one to talk to except your monkey sock doll?
- Arwin: You know me so well! [blows nose] How could mother just move out? Who am I gonna go to the movies with?
- Zack: We'll go with you, buddy.
- Arwin: I am a 34-year-old man. I'm not gonna go to the movies with 2 little kids. I wanna go with my mommy!

London: Lance, I am so excited about our dinner date. Look what I'm gonna wear. This is for the appetizer, this is for the entrée, and this is for the after dinner meat. See, it's mint green.
- Lance: London, look, there's no easy way for me to tell you this. I'm breaking up with you.
- London: Well, I don't think I have an outfit for that.
- Lance: No, no, what you're wearing is fine.
- London: Oh, thanks. (hesitates) Fine for what?
- Lance: For me to breaking up with you.
- London: You were serious about that?

London: You're breaking up with me? But I'm rich and beautiful!
- Lance: That's true, but I just don't think we have that much in common.
- London: You just agreed that I was rich and beautiful!
Wanda: How could you throw yourself all over that stringy-haired squid?
- Nia: *gasps* Oh, no she didn't!

Carey: You guys want dessert? I made cauliflower cobbler.
- Zack: Ha ha ho! You know what, though? I am totally wiped out. Arwin kept waking me up to check under his bed for monsters.
- Cody: And when Arwin's not awake, he sings in his sleep! (singing to the tune of "Dry Bones") "The right flange connected to the... "Left flange. "The left flange connected to the... Flush valve"--
- Carey: Well, that could be annoying.
- Cody: Oh, I'm not finished yet. (sung) "The flush valve connected to the... "3/4 inch rubberized tank gasket. Them valves, them valves, them valves."
- Carey: Well, Arwin's back at his house, and tonight we'll all catch up on our sleep.

Trivia[]

The title of this episode, "The Arwin That Came to Dinner", is an allusion to the 1939 play and 1942 film The Man Who Came to Dinner.
The Little Engineer That Could is based on The Little Engine That Could, a real children's book written by Watty Piper.
Compared to other episodes, there's a lot more noise and laughter from the audience/crew.
